Round Tables Culinary Festival – November 2018

Round Tables Culinary Festival 2018 will take place 9-23 November and this year is a special Female Edition where all the visiting chefs are female. For those not familiar with the festival, an Israel restaurant hosts a chef from a Michelin star restaurant and together they create a set menu for the duration of the festival. Tickets must be purchased in advance and cost either NIS 299 or 319, with a NIS 50 discount to Israeli American Express cardholders.

This year, the following restaurants are taking part: Coffee Bar featuring Prune NYCAria will host Hisa Franko from Slovenia; Nithan Thai partners with Leo from Bogata, Columbia; David & Yossef will host Jinjou Hong Kong; Quattro with Maca de Castro, Spain; Pastel with Stucki from Basel, Switzerland and Zepra with Rosetta of Mexico.

Once again the only kosher option is Hayarkon 99 in the Dan Tel Aviv and they will host Chef Isa Mazzocchi from La Palta in Italy.  Her signature dishes include ‘gnello Val Tidone (Val Tidone Lamb)’ and ‘Milanese di trota al prezzemolo con insalata russa alla mela verde (Milanese style trout with parsley and Russian salad with green apple)’.

Last year Mona was the only Jerusalem restaurant to take part, however, this year all the restaurants are in Tel Aviv.

The reviews from last year were very mixed, with many people saying that they didn’t think the meals were worth the money and that the meal took too long to be served.
