It has been a fairly quiet month on the restaurant front but as always, there are a few new openings to report.
KOSHER
Jaya Restaurant in The Setai Tel Aviv is now open for lunch and has a new menu. Chef Yehuda Amar, the winner of the 2018 Master Chef competition, is now the chef of Jaya.
Deli Fleishman has opened in Shuk Tzafon in Ramat Hahayal. I am a huge fan of the sandwiches from Fleishman; they are tasty and good value.
Haotentit is a new chef restaurant in Beer Sheva. It is the new incarnation of an established local restaurant that recently moved and revamped itself as a chef restaurant. The cuisine is a fusion of European food with Moroccan influences. After 10pm the restaurant turns into a bar, with a DJ and on Thursday nights it is open until late.
Cafe Mandarin has opened a new branch in Park Raanana. This is their first branch outside of Haifa and the fourth kosher branch.
Esther V’Yonathan is a new kosher restaurant in Zfat from the winners of MKR Israel (My Kitchen Rules). Yonathan and Esther Mir live in Zfat and the restaurant serves home-style meals including hummus, homemade bread, fish cakes, vegetable patties, stuffed peppers, couscous and burgers.
NOT KOSHER
Pineapple TLV is vegan sushi restaurant in Tel Aviv with an extensive bar menu. They offer 25% off the menu on Fridays.

Master Chef judge Chef Haim Cohen has opened a small café called Caffe Pizi. The café is located next to the Kfar Hayarok branch of Philadelphia, one of Cohen’s restaurants.
Cordero is a new Southern European bistro in the Suzanne Dallal Center, which has opened in place of Blini. The food and wine is from the South of France, Italy & Spain.
Hiro Ramen Bar by Chef Israel Aharoni has opened a new branch in Ramat Aviv Mall.
OTHER NEWS
- Link Jerusalem is closing for good with a farewell party on Saturday 2 March.
- Luigi’s in Katamon has closed
- Agadir Burger is opening in Cinema City Jerusalem. This will be the chain’s second kosher branch. The first kosher branch opened in Bnei Brak a few months ago.
- Beit Haugot (Mehadrin) in Yesod Hamala has officially closed but the cafe will reopen in Zfat and hopefully, the new location will be as special as the old one!
