Whether you’re looking for a new kosher dining spot like Rova Alef in the Elkonin Hotel in Tel Aviv or non-kosher openings like an American diner in Yaffo and Mosh Beach on Achziv Beach in Nahariya, this month’s roundup has you covered. Kosher Israel Restaurant Openings
- Ada (Mehadrin) is a steakhouse and smoked meat restaurant in Mevo Horon near Modiin.
- Autentica is an Italian trattoria in Ness Ziona, featuring a pizza restaurant and an Italian deli.
- Cafe Belina is a cafe in Rishon LeZion.
- Café Paris is a French bakery and cafe in the Renanim-Maccabim Center.
- Dolcé Mila is an ice cream parlor and patisserie in Savyon by Chef Jonathan Sharvit of Mila restaurant.
- Hak is a falafel restaurant in Tel Aviv, that also serves schnitzel, sabich and kubbeh.
- Jataro is a burger restaurant in Kiryat Ono that serves burgers made from Holstein beef.
- Kerem Bayir is a wine bar in Nahariya, located in the city’s old water tower. The menu includes cheese platters, salads, sandwiches, and fresh pastries.
- Malka Ve Zipi is an Italian bistro in Ashkelon.
- Morcafe is a coffee cart on Kibbutz Alumin by pastry chef Mor Orner. The menu includes sandwiches, salads, pastries, and desserts.
- Nama is a wine bar in Caesarea.
- Ofra is a grilled meat restaurant in Talpiot, Jerusalem.
- Otaku is an Asian restaurant in Herzliya.
- Pasiflora Galim is a coffee cart at the entrance to Kfar Galim, run by the youth village residents. The menu features produce from the dairy farm, a cheese factory, and fruit grown in town.
- Pop & Roll is an Asian fusion stall by Rachel Ben Elul at Sarona Market. The menu features giant sushi rolls, bowls, Japanese kubbeh, and other unique combinations.
- Rapidos is an American Mexican diner with a new branch in Petach Tikva.
- Rey’s is a wine bar in Rehovot that serves cheese platters, sandwiches, and salads.
- Roost Fried Chicken (Badatz Rubin) is a fast-food fried chicken restaurant in Ramat Eshkol, Jerusalem, replacing Shmaltz.
- Rova Alef is a dairy and fish restaurant in the Elkonin Hotel by Chef Evyatar Malka, the Chef of Winona Forever. Signature dishes include fish Hamusta, fish tacos, lima beans cacio e pepe, and burnt eggplant shish barak.
- Sushi Bar Bazel has opened a second branch in the Soho Center in Netanya.
Not Kosher Israel Restaurant Openings
- 90’s Diner is an American diner with a Middle Eastern twist, courtesy of the chef from the former Goldman Court in Jaffa. Chef Fadi Yaish is originally from Jordan but spent some time in Kansas City, Missouri, where he fell in love with the classic American cheeseburger.
- Bakery Tel Yzhak has opened a second location in Moshav Havatzelet HaSharon, close to Road 2 north of Netanya.
- Beit Goldberg is a bar and restaurant in the historic Goldberg building on Rothschild Boulevard.
- Cafe 3426Â is a cafe in Radical House in Tel Aviv, serving fair-trade coffee and fresh pastries.
- Cafe Cocen is a coffee cart with beautiful scenery in Chorazim, just north of Kinneret.
- Cafe Nas is a cafe in the Barakat Community Center in Yaffo, owned and renovated by two residents. The cafe exhibits works by local artists, projects films onto the outside walls at night, and hosts Arabic salons.
- Cafe Zohar is a cafe in Neve Sha’anan in Tel Aviv.
- Capri is an Italian restaurant in Big Fashion Glilot, owned by the same team behind Pomo and Bar Italia.
- Casa Bella is an Italian bistro and bar in Herzliya Marina.
- Cheeky Carlo is a pizza and wine bar in the Caesaria Marina overlooking the sea.
- Cozinha Verde is a wine bar in Tel Aviv by Ozen Phil. Its courtyard features a water fountain and fresh plants.
- Denver is a burger restaurant in Kfar Saba.
- Diner is a meat restaurant in Kiryat Ono owned by Makom Shel Basar in Tel Aviv.
- Finjan is a cafe in Tel Aviv owned by Nur Yousef, a graduate of Bake Off Israel. The cafe serves Arabic desserts such as baklava, Dubai knafe, Awameh balls, and other sweets from Nazareth.
- Grace is a culinary show in Pastel’s private room, hosted by Israeli Chef Gal Ben Moshe, the owner and chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant Prism in Berlin.
- Grinberg Burger has opened a second branch on Shenkin Street in Tel Aviv.
- HaShachaf is a fish and seafood restaurant in the Florentine neighborhood of Tel Aviv.
- Kawaii Japanese Cafe is a Japanese-Korean bakery owned by the neighboring store, Kimcheese.
- Mosh Beach from Eilat has opened a second location on Achziv Beach in Nahariya. It’s an eco-friendly beach, with no straws or disposable dishes, and most of the menu is vegan.
- Muabet with Shahar & Almog is a coffee cart in Beit Herut, in memory of Shahar Gindi and Almog Sarussi.
- Norish Cafe is in a renovated historic building on Allenby in Tel Aviv.
- Ramesses By The Box is the new incarnation of the Ramesses restaurant in Jaffa.
- Rivareno is a well-known Italian ice cream brand that opened its first store in Israel in Nahalat Binyamin, Tel Aviv.
- Sweet Box, the American dessert store, has opened a branch in Big Glilot Mall.
- The Grand Café by Turqiz has opened a second branch in Big Fashion Glilot.
- Zaza is a wine bar in the Old Train Station in Tel Aviv, a partnership between Basket Catering and Wine Truck.
Other Israel Foodie News
- Brown Beach Chalkida is a newly mehadrin kosher four-star resort on Evia Island in Greece, an hour’s drive from Athens. The family-oriented resort includes a meat restaurant, a poolside pizza bar, and a beachfront kiosk.
- Samna Marbella is a new restaurant by Chef Meir Adoni.
- Shabour restaurant in Paris, by Chefs Assaf Granit and Uri Navon, has received a Michelin star for a fifth consecutive year.
Debbest Dishes from Recent Meals
- Spent a lovely afternoon in the sun at Argentinian Grill Srigim as part of the Mateh Yehuda Rural Food Festival.
- I had a working lunch at Craft Pizza‘s (Mehadrin) new restaurant in Tel Aviv, overlooking Gordon Beach. Click here to find out more.
- Dinner at Dvora by Eyal Shani with my college roommates was delicious. For once, I didn’t take photos, but we shared the green beans, entrecote steak, and the salmon schnitzel, my favorite dish of the night.
- Lunch at Hamigdal (Kosher) at the entrance to the Tower of David, by the talented team behind Harim Bakery. Check out the video of the lunch and the view.
- Dinner at Jacko’s Street for a friend’s birthday, visiting from abroad with the family. It was their first time, so I ordered Moroccan cigars, sirloin roast beef, foie gras semolina cake, and bruschetta pulled asado.
- Another client dinner was held in the private room at Malka by Eyal Shani, a kosher restaurant in Tel Aviv. The menu was 99% the same as last month, and the highlights remained the same—the bag of green Jericho beans, Farro risotto, grouper chraime, and the juicy, full-flavored Entrecôte steak.

- Craft Pizza has closed in Shuk Machane Yehuda. The Craft Pizza bistros in Jerusalem, Modiin, and Tel Aviv are still open and doing well!
