Jerusalem Kosher Restaurant Openings & News – February 2026

  • Aluf (Badatz Beit Yosef), HaTnufa Complex, Talpiot, is a traditional Middle Eastern grilled-meat restaurant with a private room for events of up to 120 people.
  • Burger Yard, Rehavia, is a sports pub on Azza Street, the kosher sister to Burger Room from the Talbiye Group.
  • Hagalgal Shel Shreder (Badatz Beit Yosef), Shuk Machane Yehuda, Jerusalem, is a chain shwarma restaurant located opposite Fish en Chips. It is the restaurant’s first branch in Jerusalem.
  • L18 Rooftop Bar, InterContinental Jerusalem Hotel (Opening Soon), is an Asian-themed rooftop bar and restaurant due to open on the rooftop.
  • Muslala (Tzohar), Clal Building,  is a coffee cart on the roof that sells hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, and pastries, with indoor and outdoor seating.
  • Naima, Talpiot, is an authentic Jerusalem-style meat restaurant serving home-cooked stews by Savta Naima, such as sofrito, meatballs, kubbeh hamusta, fresh breads, and more.
  • Not Your Nonna, Shuk Machane Yehudah, is a Neopolitan pizza store where Craft and then Crust pizza stalls used to be. It is the kosher sister of Pizza X.
  • Samuel, HaTnufa Complex, Talpiot, is a meat-sandwich restaurant serving burgers, schnitzel, hot dogs, and other meat sandwiches, along with salads.

Tel Aviv Kosher Restaurant Openings & News – February 2026

  • McLovin Cafe (Dairy no supervision), Shenkin Street, is a French coffee-and-pastry cafe.
  • Mezzo, Holon, an Italian dairy restaurant, is under the kashrut supervision of Badatz Beit Yosef.
  • Noah, Holon, is a dairy restaurant.
  • Paulette, Yehudah HaLevi Street,  is a French-style rotisserie chicken restaurant serving quarter, half, and whole chickens, schnitzel, and chicken Caesar salad.
  • Sarfati’s Deli (Badatz Beit Yosef), Sarona Market, is a French fish deli serving raw, pickled, and smoked fish, along with sandwiches, ceviches, and poke bowls. The factory store is in Shilat.
  • Stroopy, Herzl Street, the stroopwafel store, has relocated to a larger location and expanded its menu.

Merkaz Kosher Restaurant Openings & News – February 2026

  • Amara, Rothschild, Rishon LeZion, is a Mediterranean bar and restaurant.
  • Cafe Gan Sipur (Mehadrin), Ohayon Park, Petach Tikva, has opened a branch overlooking an ecological lake and near playgrounds.
  • Cinnabon has opened in Ofer Grand Mall Petach Tikva,  and is scheduled to open another branch in Ofer Grand Mall Beer Sheva.
  • Daw (Mehadrin), Lod,  is a restaurant by Chef Or Bensimon, seating 24 guests. The 8-course set menu of French and Moroccan-influenced dairy and fish dishes costs NIS 400 per person, excluding drinks, and is currently open on Thursday nights.
  • Dede, Ramat HaSharon (Dairy, no certificate; closed Shabbat), is a wine bar with a dairy and fish menu.
  • Greco in Rishon LeZion is now kosher. The Greek dairy and fish restaurant hosts live performances on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Friday lunchtime.
  • MeatUp, Yehud, is a smoked-meat bagel store.
  • Taurus Smokehouse, Savyon, the meat restaurant by Mila, is now open for lunch, featuring a grilled meat skewer menu.
  • Urfa, South Netanya, is a shawarma restaurant by Chef Yonatan Zrihen, serving beef and turkey shawarma and salads, with spacious indoor and outdoor seating.
  • Vivian, Petach Tikva, is a wine bar located below Vin & Viande, part of the Whiskey Bar Museum group. The food menu features sharing dishes from Chef Itay Shalio

North Kosher Restaurant Openings & News – February 2026

  • Buller, Yokneam Illit, is a delicatessen and cafe.
  • HIYO, Haifa, is an Asian fast-food restaurant by Chef Tal Wong, uncle of Shahar, of the Instagram couple Shahar & Oren, and former chef of Siam in Hamat Gader (I ate there in 1996 and still remember it was great!).  The menu focuses on Chinese food, with Vietnamese and Thai dishes.
  • Lotus, Akotika Hotel, Akko, is a rooftop dairy cafe serving a breakfast buffet every morning and brunch on weekends.
  • Min Hakana (Mehadrin), Pardes Hanna,  is a Yemenite restaurant serving authentic saluf, lachuch, hilbeh, and various meat soups and stews, including saltah, chouia, and akwa, all made on-site.
  • Rotto, Nahariya,  is a dairy Italian restaurant and cocktail bar.
  • Tatami, Haifa, is a newly kosher Asian restaurant on Moriah Boulevard.
  • Uma Ni, Hadera,  is an Asian restaurant, the sister restaurant to Uma Sushi Bar in Zichron Yaakov.

South Kosher Restaurant Openings & News – February 2026

  • BiancaAdam Boutique Hotel, Eilat, is a dairy Italian restaurant in the hotel lobby, the reincarnation of Cena, when it was Brown Eilat.
  • Shawarma Tayyib, Ashdod, is a shwarma restaurant serving chicken, hen turkey, and beef shwarma topped with lamb fat. The menu also includes a variety of meat skewers. 
  • Sushi Yujin, Ashdod, is a sushi restaurant that previously operated as a sushi delivery service.
  • Tagos, Ashkelon, is a meat sandwich bar by the sea owned by the same team behind the dairy Italian restaurant, Basilika.

  • Cafe Moreshet, Motza Ilit, is a small cafe in the historic building Beit Haluzi Haor, serving homemade pastries and desserts, and Agro Cafe coffee.
  • Noa Bistro in Park Kramim, Kiryat Anavim, has reopened for dinner on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Tel Aviv Non-Kosher Restaurant Openings & News – February 2026

  • 8th & G, Kerem Hateimanim,  is a cafe serving coffee, wine, sandwiches, and snacks, including cinnabons.
  • Bobby, Givatayim, is a smash burger restaurant by the same owners as Marlen.
  • Bo’uThe George Hotel,  is a restaurant by Chef Tomer Tal, due to open in February.
  • Koko Zen, Florentine, is a Japanese coffee shop owned by and next to Koko Neko Japanese ramen bar. The menu features Japanese drinks and sandwiches, but the highlight is the fluffy pancakes, available in both sweet and savory varieties.
  • Loki, Florentine,  is a roastery and cafe.
  • Gastrobar ‘Me & Mo’  will be The Byron TLV‘s signature restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel when it opens this summer.
  • RPM, Levinsky Market,  is a gastro bar led by Chef Amit Alali.
  • The Sataf will open a branch in Tel Aviv in Spring 2026.
  • ZuttLink Hotel & Hub, is a pizza restaurant featuring New York-style pizza drizzled with hot honey. 15% off business lunch (12-4 pm) and 1+1 happy hour on drinks (4-7 pm); closed on weekends.

Merkaz Non-Kosher Restaurant Openings & News – February 2026

  • Benedict Picnic Park, Park Raanana, is a new branch of the Benedict restaurant, offering dine-in and take-away options, as well as picnic baskets.
  • Pizza X, Rishon LeZion, is the latest branch of the pizza chain.
  • Surin, G Center Savyon, is a Thai restaurant owned by the same people as Thai 148 in Tel Aviv.

North Non-Kosher Restaurant Openings & News – February 2026

  • Basta, Nof HaGalil,  is a grilled-meat skewer restaurant run by Chef Salah Abu Ahmad. Additional dishes include beef tartare,  arais, and veal shawarma.
  • Dafnale, Kibbutz Dafna Galil, is a food and entertainment complex open seven days a week. Current food premises include:
  • Kvish 90 burger restaurant will open a new branch in a few months at Goma Junction, just 10 minutes from the original location.
  • The famous Mattarello bakery from Kibbutz Ein Zivan in the Golan, and its owner, Chef Adi Peretz, moved to Budapest last year but has since returned to Israel and is set to open a restaurant and bakery in Binyamina in February 2026.
  • Salt, Haifa, is a seafood fast-food restaurant by Chef Alaa Musa of Lux Haifa.
  • Sashada, Moshav Neve Ativ, is a dairy cafe, restaurant, and wine bar near Mount Hermon.
  • Suzana Emek Hefer started as a summer cafe and bakery and is now open for dinner.
  • Udiz, Kfar Giladi,  is a brewery serving craft beers, with sushi and gyoza.

South Non-Kosher Restaurant Openings & News – February 2026

  • Shake Shack has opened its sixth branch in Israel in Big Fashion Ashdod.

Other Foodie News

  • Bella is an Italian-inspired restaurant by Chef Eyal Shani in the Liberty Park Hotel in Miami Beach.
  • Vinni is the new name of the Fat Vinny chain, changing the theme from American to Italian.
  • Chef Yossi Shitrit is due to open a large new restaurant in the Da Vinci complex in Tel Aviv this summer.
  • Nono Group has acquired GDB burger chain for NIS 65 million, read more here.
  • Pitmaster (Kosher) announced the opening of a Miami branch after Pesach and plans to open a New York City branch after the summer.
  • The Tel Aviv Municipality has amended the legislation that had prevented coffee carts from operating in city parks, so we expect many new carts to open in Tel Aviv parks.
  • Business Lunches

    • Nura, the meat restaurant in Kiryat Anavim from the Harim Group, has a new business lunch that includes a free starter with the main course. Here is the Nura Business Lunch menu in English.
    • Raseef 33 in downtown Haifa has two business lunch options, NIS 125 or 155 each, Sunday to Thursday.
    • Thai House restaurant in Tel Aviv has introduced a sharing lunch menu for NIS 252 or 268 for two people, including starters, mains, and desserts.
  • Closures

    • Bar Bahar in Nes Harim, overlooking the Judean Hills, has closed after 25 years, but it will reopen in mid-February near Yad Kennedy and Moshav Aminadav.
    • Manta Ray, a restaurant in Charles Clore Park in Tel Aviv, has closed after 27 years, along with the nearby Alma Beach bar and restaurant.
    • The original Segafredo Espresso branch on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv has closed after 30 years.
    • West Side in Royal Beach Tel Aviv.

  • Lunch at Chalav Udvash Cafe (Rav Rubin), an American cafe in French Hill in Jerusalem. More details and photos of the dishes here.
  • Coffee and pastry on the roof terrace of Hamigdal (Kosher), enjoying a strawberry pastry in the winter sunshine.
  • It was great to spend the afternoon at the annual Sommelier exhibition in Tel Aviv. I focused on visiting new wineries and tasting the latest vintages from some of my favorites. Here are a few of my favorite wines I tasted.
  • Tasting at the Jerusalem Vineyard Winery (Kosher) visitors center at The Windmill in Yemin Moshe, with incredible views of the Old City walls.
  • Dinner in the newish location of Shila (Not Kosher) in the Gymnasia Hotel – the raw fish starters were amazing,  the main dishes were slightly less interesting, but overall a great meal.

  1. Looks like Naima is in Katamonim, not Talpiot. Which is correct?.
    Please note the closing of Le Charolais in Jerusalem.
