A Selection of the Best Burgers in Jerusalem.
This post summarizes my selection of the best burgers in Jerusalem. I know that not everyone has the same taste in burgers, so I have tried to explain my choices. While most people love lists, some keyboard warriors always love to hate. If you disagree with my selection, I would love to hear your thoughts on your favorite burger in Jerusalem, but please do so in a kind and constructive manner so we can all keep things positive!
Here is my list of the best burgers in Jerusalem:
- MG Burger (Kosher) is Angelica‘s delivery-only burger store. The burger patty is juicy and flavorful, and comes well-wrapped to keep it warm. The fries are also delicious.
- Josef Burger (Kosher) is my first choice for a good burger in a good setting. I always order the 240g Angus burger, which I find more tender and juicy than the regular Josef burger and worth the extra money. They have a great selection of toppings and quick, friendly service. There is also a good business lunch deal, including a main, a side dish, and a drink. My standard order is a medium Angus burger with goose breast, and as a special treat, I get goose liver and chili pineapple toppings.

- Harvey’s Burger Shack (Mehuderet) specializes in smashed burgers, which yield a nice, crispy exterior. The downside is that the burger is only 125g, and you can have a double or a triple if you want more. I am not a big fan of stacked burgers; I think a single 250g burger is juicier and tastes much better than two 125g burgers served together, but I do like the crust on a smash burger. Another specialty at Harvey’s is the smoked meat, so toppings include Applewood-smoked asado bacon, hickory-smoked pulled beef, and Montreal smoked meat. The burger and toppings are delicious, but the bun is a bit too big for the burger, and I find the prices high for a fast-food place.
- Golden Burger (Kosher) serves a burger made from 100% Entrecote beef, with a signature house sauce and no vegetable fillings. The brioche bun is slightly toasted, and once assembled, the burger is cut in half and seared in the middle to create a caramelized flavor with the sauce. When it first opened, I loved it, but then they changed the sauce, and now I find it too sweet, and the sauce’s flavor overpowers the natural meat taste. The fries are round, taste good, but are very clearly factory-made.
- Jacko’s Street (Kosher) serves a great chef’s burger, but it is not a burger restaurant. The burger is succulent and flavorful, served with a generous portion of roasted potatoes. If you want an unforgettable gourmet burger, this is the one to try.
- Captain Burger (Mehadrin) is better than average for a fast-food takeaway chain, but it is still a fast-food takeaway chain. Burger meals include a 110g burger, fries, and a drink.

- Burger Room JLM (Not Kosher) makes burgers that to me taste more like sausages than burgers, but the place is popular with students in Rehavia. They have a choice of seven burgers, including a Beyond Burger and interesting toppings such as fig jam, jalapeno, and brisket.
- Cafe Yehoshua (Not Kosher) serves a house burger with smoked Asado and spicy tomato sauce. You can add cheddar or Emmental cheese. They also serve a Beyond Burger.
- Bunger (Not Kosher) is a smash burger restaurant and bar off Hillel Street in Jerusalem, with a selection of cheeseburgers and crispy chicken burgers.
- Iwo’s Burger (Not Kosher) is a typical burger restaurant with American diner-style booths. The choice of burgers includes beef, veal, lamb, or bacon, and among the more gourmet toppings are Emmental, Roquefort, and Parmesan Cheese, Bacon, Goose Liver, and Truffle Butter. They also serve a selection of sandwiches, salads, sticky chicken wings, and tater tops with cheese.
Other Burger places in Jerusalem:
- Berlin Burger (Kosher) is a burger restaurant in the Mamilla Mall, owned by the same owners as Luciana.
- Bobby Burger (Badatz) in Beit Hakerem has a range of beef, chicken, and vegan burgers.
- Burger Market (Kosher) is popular because it is cheap, but I don’t like the texture of the burger patty; the meat disintegrated when I ate it. I prefer to spend a bit extra for a better-quality burger.
- Crave (Mehuderet) is popular with those who keep kosher and want to experience the taste of a bacon cheeseburger with lamb bacon and cashew cheese. The burger menu includes a selection of steak burgers and smash burgers. I find it very expensive, and I prefer a good steak burger at Jacko’s Street for the same price.
- Karma Restaurant (Not Kosher). Family-friendly bistro in Ein Kerem village with a classic-style burger and toppings.
- In Burger (Badatz Ruben) is a burger restaurant in Ramat Eshkol.
- McDonald’s (Kosher & Not Kosher). Sometimes, you want a quick burger, and McDonald’s is the perfect solution. The Entrecote burger is better than a regular Big Mac, but it can be overcooked. I prefer McDonald’s over other Israeli franchises, which lack quality control and consistency.
- Q’s Wings & Burger (Not Kosher) is a take-away wings and burger store in French Hill.
- Ruben (Badatz Machpud) is a chain of burger restaurants with a branch in Givat Shaul.
- Sam’s Burger (Badatz Ruben) is an American diner restaurant in Har Hotzvim.
- Segev Burger (Kosher) is a burger restaurant in Talpiot with a food truck in Emek Hamatzlevah.
- The Barrel & The Tap (Not Kosher) is a pub in central Jerusalem with a burger and sushi menu and delivery. The burgers are OK, but the chicken wings are excellent.
- Tommy’s (Mehadrin) isn’t my favorite place, but it is popular with some people.
- Twins (Mehadrin) is a street-food restaurant on the tracks near The First Station, serving seven burgers. Burgers are served in Moroccan Frena bread.
