Top 10 Kosher Chef Restaurants in Jerusalem

While there are good kosher restaurants all around Israel, the majority of the best kosher dining experiences are in Jerusalem. Here is a list of my top ten must-try kosher high-end restaurants in Jerusalem.

Street Food in the Jerusalem Shuk

New street food places have opened all over Jerusalem but you can now find the best variety in Shuk Machne Yehuda. Unusual dishes include Hacharuli, a Georgian cheese pastry pictured below and Shamburak, a Kurdish Syrian pastry filled with meat and vegetables.

Top 10 Pizza Places in Jerusalem

Just like hummus and falafel in the middle east, everyone has their favorite pizza place and you will never get everyone to agree. So I want to make it very clear that this is my personal selection. My criteria for good pizza are a nice crispy base, good flavor sauce and fresh and gooey cheese.

If you don’t know Jerusalem, it may seem that the city shuts down completely and there are no good places to eat, but that is simply not true, you just need to know where to find them. Whether you are looking for a nice restaurant for dinner on Friday night, a cafe for breakfast on Shabbat, or simply want fast food or a takeaway, there are plenty of great options to choose from.
