Street Food in the Jerusalem Shuk
New street food places have opened all over Jerusalem but you can now find the best variety in Shuk Machne Yehuda. Unusual dishes include Hacharuli, a Georgian cheese pastry pictured below and Shamburak, a Kurdish Syrian pastry filled with meat and vegetables.

For people with limited time in Jerusalem who want to have an interesting culinary experience, the shuk is the best option. I have developed a self-guided tour of Shuk Machne Yehuda, which helps you to walk around, eating something small at a number of different places.
