A List of Kosher Restaurants Serving Hametz the Night before Pesach 2024.

Under normal circumstances, if a kosher restaurant is not open for Pesach, it is safe to assume that it will be open the day before Pesach serving Hametz. This year, there are fewer than normal kosher restaurants open for Pesach. This is due to a number of factors – the ongoing war, lack of tourism, and the way Pesach falls with Shabbat in the middle of Chol Hamoed. Many hotel restaurants that have been closed since October are not reopening until after Pesach. For once, there will be a large choice of kosher restaurants to eat hametz in the run-up to Pesach. The list below includes restaurants that have confirmed to me that they will be closed over Pesach and open on 21 April, serving hametz.

Jerusalem Area Hametz Restaurants

• 1868 is a meat chef’s restaurant in a historic building with an interesting and diverse menu.
• Andalucia (Mehuderet) is a Spanish-themed tapas and cocktail bar in a beautifully decorated building. The bar is located on Kikar Hamusica and has a large outdoor space. Here is the Andalucia English Menu.

• Angelica is a high-end meat restaurant.
• Anthony’s Pizza (Mehadrin) is a Roman-style pizza restaurant near the Iriah in the City Center.
• Beer Bazaar is a beer hall with a large selection of beer and bar food. It has branches in Shuk Machane Yehuda and Rehov Yaffo, which also have a beer garden.
• Cafe Lyon (Mehadrin) is a dairy cafe with a varied menu that includes breakfasts, sandwiches, toast, salads, pasta, grilled fish, and more.
• Cafe Shalva (Mehadrin) is a dairy cafe in Shalva National Center.
• Caffit is a dairy cafe with branches in the city center and Agam Adumim.
• Craft Pizza (Mehadrin) has a stall in the shuk serving NY-style pizza and a restaurant in town serving traditional Neopolitan-style pizza. Both serve great pizza with a lovely sourdough base and flavorful sauce.
• Eser by 1868 is a dairy restaurant in Ticho House in Jerusalem. The menu is divided into four sections, vegetables, gluten, fish, deep-fry, and plancha fish (full Eser English menu, scroll down).
• Fringe is a dairy and fish restaurant on the ground floor of the Jerusalem Theater from the Talbiye group. The menu is varied and exciting, with a mix of dishes from the Levant.
• Hacnaanit  is a smoked meat food truck at the entrance of Kfar Adumim.
• Hamotzi is a North African meat restaurant by Chef Avi Levy near Shuk Machane Yehuda.

• Hatch (Mehadrin) serves craft beer and American-style bar food in Shuk Machane Yehuda.
• Hatzar Ein Karem is a spacious dairy restaurant in Ein Karem.
• Hatzot is a popular steakiah (meat grill) with a separate takeaway window and street-side tables.
• Josef Burger is a burger restaurant by the owners of Hatzot on Agripas.
• Kapao (Mehadrin) is a Thai food and sushi restaurant in Bet Shemesh.
• Kinor Bakikar (Mehuderet) is a steak restaurant in Kikar Hamusica.
• La Piedra (Mehadrin) is a pizza restaurant with two branches, serving salads and fresh homemade pasta.
• Maalya is a meat restaurant in Park Kramim in Kiryat Anavim run by Chef Tal Gazit.
• Miss & Mr is a cocktail bar in Kikar HaMuscia in Jerusalem with a meat and fish menu.
• Mojo’s (Mehuderet) is a meat pizza restaurant and bar on Shlomtzion HaMalka in Jerusalem.
• Naadi Cafe is one of the most popular cafes in Jerusalem. It is known for its excellent breakfasts, fresh and creative salads, and interesting pasta and fish dishes for dinner.
• Nahman (Mehadrin) is a fish and dairy Italian restaurant in Kikar HaMusica.
• Napoleon Cafe is a French cafe and bakery in Kikar HaMusica.
• Naya is an Asian restaurant with branches in Beit Hakerem in Jerusalem and Beit Nekofa, just outside Jerusalem.

• Nuna (Mehadrin) is a mufleta stand in Shuk Machane Yehuda. It serves a selection of savory and sweet mufleta sandwiches. I have tried most of the menu and taken several friends who all loved the food as much as I do.

• Papagaio is a Brazilian meat restaurant in Talpiot.
• Piccolino (Mehadrin) is a  dairy Italian restaurant in Kikar HaMusica.
• Pop Up Cafe is a dairy restaurant in Kiryat Anavim from the owners of Derech HaGefen, Naya, and Cafe Shalva.
• Pitmaster is a grilled and smoked meat restaurant in Cinema City featuring a 9-course meat fest.
• Rachel Basdera is a dairy sandwich stall on Ben Maimon Boulevard in Rehavia.
• Rachel 5 is the sister restaurant of Rachel Basdera, serving meat sandwiches and salads.
• Sima is a traditional grill restaurant on Agripas.
• Sheyan (Mehadrin) is an Asian restaurant in Rehavia serving sushi and Chinese food.
• Smoke Burger is a fast-food burger, chicken, and sausage restaurant near the Shuk.
• The Coffee Mill (Tzohar) is a cafe and coffee store on Emek Refaim.
• The Eucalyptus (Tzohar) is a meat restaurant close to the Old City with a Biblical-themed menu.
• Tipsy Cafe is an American diner in Rehavia that is owned by the same owners as Bardak Pizza.
• Tmol Shilshom is a cozy dairy cafe in Nahalat Shiva.
• Tzidkiyahu (Mehadrin) is a traditional grilled meat restaurant in Talpiot.
• Zuta, is the cocktail bar of 1868, located at the back of the restaurant with a great bar food and cocktail menu.

• Qumran is a restaurant bar with a menu that focuses on contemporary raw fish, meat, and vegetable dishes.

• Baronita is a meat restaurant off the midrochov in Zichron Yaakov.
