So fortunate to be able to attend a dinner in @chefnirzook’s home to celebrate a special birthday for someone I work with. Arriving just in time for sunset made the setting even more spectacular. The food was similar to my last visit there, with a few seasonal changes. I loved the seared tuna with snow peas and fennel, as well as the gnocchi with asado. The tapioca pudding and homemade marzipan were a lovely end to the meal.
Loved the food at @sushi_bar_bazel_tlv which recently moved into the Prima City hotel in Tel Aviv. This was a set menu for an event in the private room which holds up to 30 people. I really liked the avocado tempura, fish cigars which a spicy dip, Asian tofu salad with a delicious dressing, and of course the sushi itself.
Gave a wonderful tour of Shuk Machane Yehuda last week. It was especially fun for the Shabbat after Pesach to see hundreds of challot being plaited, left to rise and then baked in a huge oven. We had juices at @etrogman, Malawach from @iam_jahnun_bar, the best slice of pizza from @craftpizzajlm, ice cream from @golda.machneyuda and finished it all with a Mufleta from @nuna_mufleta. Business lunch at @naya_asian in Beit Nekofa, just outside Jerusalem. With the new road 16 it is even quicker to reach from central Jerusalem and also a great place to meet people from other cities. The business lunch includes starters and a drink for the price of the main course. We were a big group so shared a lot of the food but I particularly loved the spicy chicken wings, fresh lime and mint sushi and the Duck Ramen.
