Jerusalem Kosher Restaurant Openings – April 2026

  • Maison Fanani (Badatz Rav Rubin) is a French cafe and bakery in the Rehavia Windmill.
  • Okayama Sushi (Badatz Beit Yosef) is a sushi bar and restaurant opening above Chakra on King George Street in Jerusalem. A new kosher sushi spot in central Jerusalem.
  • Shimmy’s (Badatz Rav Rubin) is an American-style meat diner due to open soon in Ramat Eshkol. Shimmy’s, which originates in the Golan, has branches in Modiin and Hadera and is run by Chef Todd Aarons, the original chef of Crave and Bodega.
  • Vivid  Burger is a burger restaurant in The First Station that has replaced Captain Burger.

Tel Aviv Kosher Restaurant Openings – April 2026

  • Backyard 51 is a garden bar behind Fifty One restaurant in Nahalat Binyamin, with a menu that combines Italian and Japanese dishes.
  • Benny Hadayag, a fish-and-meat restaurant in Marina Herzliya, has become kosher under the supervision of Badatz Beit Yosef.
  • Burekas Aba Toda from Rishon LeZion has opened a branch on Park HaMesila in Tel Aviv, open 24/6. The menu includes classic and vegan burekas, rogelach, and dairy and vegan malabi. Frozen raw burekas and rogelach are available to make at home.
  • The Einstein Complex, a new culinary complex in Ramat Aviv owned by Eden Ben Zaqen and her husband, with three restaurants:
  • Moo Who is a smash burger restaurant in Ramat Gan, delivering to Tel Aviv and surrounding areas, including Bnei Brak and Givatayim. A new burger spot in the Tel Aviv area known for creative toppings.
  • Ninnyo (Mehadrin) is a dairy and fish Italian restaurant on Weizmann Street, from the owners of 2C.

  • Atelier Florine in a bakery and patisserie in Alei Zahav in the Shomron by Efrat Iluz, owner of Florine Cafe coffee cart in nearby Pedu’el.

  • Pizza Mu (Mehadrin) is a pizza restaurant in Gedera serving New York-style pizza.

Here are the latest non-kosher restaurant openings across Israel for April 2026, including new bars, restaurants, and casual dining spots in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, the Central District, and the North.

Tel Aviv Non-Kosher Restaurant Openings – April 2026

  • Hamara De Picciotto is a neighborhood bar on De Picciotto Street serving small plates to accompany drinks.
  • Jackie’s American Diner is relocating from 39 to 45 Rothschild Boulevard.
  • Lupa is a casual Italian delicatessen and restaurant on Levontin Street, known as a Tavola Calda, serving classic Italian dishes like stracciatella mortadella sandwich, lasagna bolognese, and spaghetti and meatballs.
  • Nai is a new bar inside the Thai restaurant Kab Kem, featuring Thai bar food and drinks. The Aperitivo offers 20% off the menu from 5-7 pm. Owner Yariv Melli, who also owns Thai House, plans to open a new restaurant in the Publica Hotel in Herzliya Pituach.
  • Onami sushi restaurant on HaArba’a Street has opened a grab-and-go store next door, selling Japanese salads, onigiri, uramaki, nigiri, and sashimi combinations.
  • Pizza Cotta is a pizza restaurant by Chef Narkis Alfi of  Beina. The dough is made from 50% wholewheat flour and takes 48 hours to make. Pizza flavors include margarita, potato with mozzarella and ricotta, bianca with mushrooms and truffle oil, prosciutto with pear and maple syrup, and straciatella and artichoke.
  • Pizza Lila has opened a new branch on Shenkin Street, and the branch on Levinsky has closed due to the collapse of the neighboring building.
  • Radler restaurant in the Alberto by Isrotel is being taken over by Chef Avi Biton and the Popular Group, following the departure of Chef Moshiko Gamliel and the Mona Group.
  • Rámi Bar is an Italian Osteria on Ramban Street, next to Shuk HaCarmel.
  • Sabra is a cold coffee bar serving a wide variety of iced coffee, iced tea, and iced matcha drinks, with dessert slices served on the side.  Combinations include a banana cream latte, a creme brulee latte topped with creme brulee, a tiramisu latte topped with tiramisu, and a matcha latte with matcha tiramisu.
  • Shila by Chef Sharon Cohen, inside the Gymnasia Hotel, is now open for lunch Saturday to Thursday and for brunch on Friday.
  • Taco de Lolita is a taqueria in Shuk HaCarmel, the little sister to Beber. The menu includes nachos, Caesar salad, avocado, raw fish, lamb belly or beef cheek tacos, frozen margaritas, and corn ice cream.

  • Danny’z is a Chicago deep dish pizzeria in Modiin, in the style of an American Italian diner.

North Non-Kosher Restaurant Openings – April 2026

  • Mifgash Bat Galim is a restaurant and ice cream bar in the Bat Galim neighborhood of Haifa, run by Chef Uri Tzur.
  • Sunflour Pizza is a sourdough New York-style pizzeria in the Bat Galim neighborhood in Haifa from the Sunflower Bakery. The pizza dough is made with wholemeal Italian flour, and flavors include margarita, pepperoni, bianco pistachio, pepperoni rosa with hot honey, musakhan chicken, and cacio e pepe.

Recent Debbest Dining Experiences

  • For the second year in a row, I had my pre-Pesach dinner at Azia 19, a tiny bit of normality amid the sirens.  The dinner was one of those meals where every dish just worked. We shared a mix of favorites and first-timers—starting with perfectly done dumplings and the addictive sesame Caesar salad—before moving on to the Yaki Burger, which delivered on flavor, and the standout of the night: the Chicken Sando. It was my first time trying it, and it absolutely lived up to the hype—crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Definitely one I’ll be ordering again.
  • Dinner at Zahara in the Nucha Hotel (from the team behind Angelica) was exactly what we needed over Chol Hamoed Pesach—a chance to feel normal, enjoy a great meal, and support the restaurant industry. We started with a well-balanced beef tartar and a fresh, vibrant salmon ceviche, before moving on to a perfectly seared entrecôte and a flavourful sirloin. We paired the meal with glasses of Dalton Elkosh Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2022, which was full-bodied and a great complement. Desserts were mixed—the parev crème brûlée was impressive but slightly grainy, while the white chocolate & pistachio cake was better on the bottom half. I wouldn’t usually try somewhere new over Pesach, but this was an excellent meal that was even kitniyot-free, and the service was exceptional.
